Four advantages of utilizing drum handling slings:

  • Enhanced load control achieved through positive drum engagement
  • Reduced damage to drums and/or their contents
  • Capability to maintain drums at a minimal height during transportation
  • Effortless and efficient handling of drums.

Four Risks when handling drums:

  • Non-secure drum engagement: Merely placing drums atop forklift tongs or “grappling” drums beneath the rim does not guarantee a secure engagement and/or effective control over the drum.
  • Handling partially filled drums: Fluid sloshing within partially filled drums can lead to dynamic loading and a subsequent loss of load control.
  • Handling damaged drums: Damaged drums impede a secure grip between the drum sling tightening band and the drum surface.
  • Transportation of drums: Transporting drums over uneven surfaces can cause instability, especially when using equipment, during the transportation process.
