Do not use "high quality" as the specification. Translate the application into measurable fields. If a standard or conformity route is required, name the applicable market, product type, edition, and document.

Markings and Documentation Must Agree

Markings help users identify what an item is, but a marking is not self-validating. Compare the body marking, tag or label, packaging, technical sheet, declaration, test record, and purchase order. Model names, sizes, ratings, material designations, and traceability codes should not contradict one another.

Compatibility Is a System Check

A shackle pin must fit without forcing. A hook needs suitable engagement and movement. A master link must accommodate the crane hook and sling legs. Threaded components need matching threads and engagement according to their instructions.

Do not mix a body, pin, latch, bolt, nut, or retaining part from another item merely because it appears to fit. Unless the product instructions explicitly permit the combination, the replacement may change material, dimensions, load transfer, retention, or traceability. Receiving Inspection: Compare the Delivery with the Order

  2. Compare quantities, markings, dimensions, finish, and component configuration with the approved order and sample.
  3. Check pins, threads, nuts, retainers, latches, and moving parts for correct assembly and normal movement.
  4. Look for visible cracks, deformation, damaged threads, sharp unintended edges, heavy corrosion, coating damage, welding not shown in the specification, or signs of unauthorized repair.

Pause acceptance or use when any of the following is found:
